171,000 New Jobs Added In The US Economy In Octoer

A total of 171,000 new jobs were added to the US economy in the month of October – shattering all expectations, reports the Bureau Of Labor Statistics. The statistics come at a critical time, just days before the US election is decided, and will please the Obama camp who will use it as proof that the US economy is slowly beginning to turn in the right direction.

However, the numbers still showed an overall rise in unemployment – from 7.8% in September to 7.9% in October – prompting Governor Romney to warn “Today’s increase in the unemployment rate is a sad reminder that the economy is at a virtual standstill.”

Unemployment is one of the fundamental key factors that voters in the US election care about.
