Clients Spend 121 Billion Minutes On Social Media

According to Nielsen research, consumers in the USA spent an astonishing 121 billion minutes on various social media sites – a growth of 37% from the same time last year.

The Marketing Pilgrim blog released an article slicing and dicing the numbers with some neat infographics. An interesting find is that while on the whole, Facebook gathered the most views – the social giant actually had a dip of 4% compared to the last year. Time spent by consumers on Pinterest was up by a staggering 1,047%.

Possibly the most eye raising snip of information from the Nielsen report was the discovery that 32% of 18 to 24 year olds use social networking sites in the toilet.
