Royal Mail To Create One Thousand Jobs

The UK’s biggest state own mail carrier, Royal Mail, is to significantly expand its Parcelforce business and create about a thousand new jobs in the process says Reuters. The boom in retail sales, and the ever growing internet home delivery niche has seen Parcelforce grow its revenues to £4.2 billion – that’s nearly a whopping half of total Royal Mail revenues.

The expansion in the parcels business comes both as a boon and a relief – as Royal Mails traditional snail mail letter revenues have slowed significantly.

The company is to invest 75 million into the parcelforce business, following profits for the first time in four years thanks to a major restructure which saw a blend of cost cutting and price rises.
