Creating An Acceptable Use Policy For Staff

Your business will almost certainly have the internet available for staff members to browse. While most employees will automatically understand what’s acceptable and what’s not, there are always a few who might browse inappropriate material, or browse for too long.

Business Blogs Hub has a good article on creating an acceptable use policy. It explains how the policy should include the following:

  • Overview – A description of the policy from your company’s viewpoint.
  • Purpose – Why the policy has been drafted and who it aims to protect.
  • General Use – This is the main staple of the policy and should include acceptable and unacceptable use, copyright, confidentiality and disclosure.
  • Network Use.
  • Breech of terms – Outlines what might happen if the user breaks the acceptable use policy.
