Hurricane Sandy Lops 0.4% Off FTSE (And It Hasn’t Even Hit)

The not so warmly anticipated hurricane Sandy, due to hit the East coast of America has spooked stock markets including the FTSE which opened 0.4% lower today. The US stock market has already announced that it will not be open, citing the weather – the first time that a weather related event has closed the market since 1985, according to Reuters.

Hurricane Sandy has caused certain low lying areas along the East Coast to be evacuated and it is feared that it could materialize to be the biggest storm to threaten the States in many years.
