Is Starbucks Coffee Poisoning UK SME’s?

Starbucks, Amazon and Google are just a trio of companies who have been under the microscope recently for (perfectly legal) tax avoidance that many feel is morally wrong. However, if you’re a small business then the tax tricks that only appears to be available to huge multinational conglomerates may actually be harming you, argues Business Zone.

Many of the large companies for example can end up paying a tax rate of only 3.2%, which is tiny in comparison to the 24% faced by most UK businesses. The concern of unethical tax avoidance has reached such a fever pitch that representatives of Google, Starbucks and Amazon were hauled in front of the  House of Commons Public Accounts Committee to answer questions regarding their taxes.
